In this course, we aim to thoroughly cover essential operating system concepts, including:

  • Threads
  • Semaphore
  • Mutex
  • Deadlocks
  • Memory Management
  • File Management

We will delve into how CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) enables the development of powerful parallel computing systems, preparing you for a future in high-performance computing.

  • Flipped Classes: Engage with materials beforehand to make class time more interactive.
  • Practical Sessions: Hands-on practice to cement theoretical concepts.

Course Structure

This course is structured for success:

  • Three weekly theory classes.
  • Two hours of practical sessions each week.
  • Mandatory attendance: 85% is required, with a minimum of 75% to meet DSU policy.

Evaluation Components

Your performance will be evaluated through:

  • Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA): 60 marks
  • Semester End Exam (SEE): 40 marks

The CIA consists of:

  • Mid Semester Exam (30 marks from 40)
  • Quizzes, Seminars, Lab Tests, and Lab Records distributed in CATs (Continuous Assessment Tests).

To pass, you need a total score of 40 marks out of 100.
